Save Me

As Ellison Emory begins college just a year after his mother’s death, he looks forward to a new start with both hope and trepidation.  His relationship with his father is damaged beyond repair and he cannot seem to find a connection to his peers, but college offers the opportunity of a fresh start.

Ellison finds it difficult to fit in at Duke University, relying on his roommate Jason as a guide, and the one bright spot is when he meets Angela.  She is pretty, clever and funny, and he nurses a secret crush on her until Jason announces that he has fallen for Angela, and they are a couple.

Devastated, Ellison watches from the sidelines during their college years as Jason romances Angela and breaks her heart.  Finally, Ellison gets his own chance with Angela, beginning a love triangle that destroys both his friendship with Jason and his relationship with Angela.

Ellison’s struggles during his senior year at Duke lead him back to his estranged father.  They try to mend the threads of their fragile relationship and Ellison goes back to the rubble of his relationship with Angela, trying to find answers.  When they reunite, those answers threaten to change Ellison’s plans for medical school and beyond.

"Fine presents a stimulating novel that snatches your attention from the start and leaves you wondering what will happen. Readers will enjoy her ability to make her words speak to the mind and the soul. Plus, the strong characters really make the story come alive."
